Valentine's Event Recap

Our first event, Valentine’s Date Night for Food & Wine Lovers, on February 13th was enjoyed by an intimate group and we thank you for your support and engagement that made this night a success!

As it is our intention is to share food through love while supporting local chefs and businesses. We were able to offer a collaboration from local chefs and businesses and enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal accompanied by a specially selected wine paring to create a romantic culinary experience for your date night at home.

Thanks, to Chef Paul and Angela of Cascata Bistro in Carlisle for their elegant, delicious appetizer, of roasted red pepper mascarpone and basil soup. Www.cascatabistro.ca

Our appreciation to Andera of Nature Knows Inc., who provided a fresh selection of fruits and vegetables to cleanse your palate throughout your meal. www.natureknowsinc.ca

Chef Brandon and Irene of West Plains Bistro in Aldershot, offered three mouth-watering main dishes to select from; Pan-Seared Salmon, Chicken Scallopini or Stuffed Acorn Squash which we very much appreciated! www.westplainsbistro.com

We enjoyed recreating our award-winning Nanaimo bars to Nanaimo Bombs for indulgent finally to this meal. Following up to several requests, I have also shared this recipe in this file.

We were honoured and appreciated Certified Sommelier Katherine Mellin, owner of Apparition Wines and Spirits to conclude this event. Katherine led a virtual tasting through all four of the available wines sharing stories behind each wine and highlighted how the wines complimented the flavours in foods. www.apparitionwines.com

Most importantly to our participants who took a chance and shared this experience with us, we truly appreciate your support and to share your date night with us. Thank you!

Share food through love!

Cheers,

Monica
